Elizabeth “Liz” Novy
Nurse :: Nurse-Coach :: Integrative Health Coach :: Designer
The darkest times have led to light and the credentials to serve you best.
From that night in the Metro Tower when I felt helpless as I watched my brother’s life end from cancer, I began a quest to design my life around integrative health. So, I left a career in interior design to become a registered nurse, embracing my vision of well-being and my goal to be a credible resource to others.
I bring a unique perspective with experience in the creative design process as an interior designer from my first career, in chronic disease as a nurse, and with empowerment and community as an integrative health coach. Yoga practice has set the stage for a mind-heart-body framework for care. As a medical education specialist with Genova Diagnostics, I became proficient with specialty laboratory testing commonly used in functional medicine. I am expecting to achieve IFM certification in 2024. As a nurse practitioner, I strive to provide safe, evidence-informed, personalized care through a systematic approach and working alliance with the patient.
Being aware that an educational gap exists with regard to lifestyle and wellness in healthcare, I completed a nurse educator graduate certificate at OSU. I have educational experience working with health and wellness coaching programs in curriculum management and development, as well as collaborating with other coaches to provide a review course for the NBHWC board certification exam. As a result, I am proficient at developing and delivering content and I have a deep understanding of, and ability to apply, coaching theory, process, and skills.
With top character strengths of “love of learning” and “appreciation of beauty and excellence,” I continue to advance my knowledge, skills, and credentials. If there is one thing I am experienced with it is change. I know intimately what is to (solely) make big decisions in health, careers, locations, and life. Those decisions come with hope, faith, achievement, agency, and loss. I can dream the vision, and live through the messy middle. I have weathered the moments of digging deep within myself to make these changes happen, sometimes over many years. As a result, I can authentically relate.
